Heartland Coin Club

Medals

From 1985 to 2016, the Heartland Coin Club commissioned an annual medal depicting a historical site or important event within its membership area. These medals, designed by club members, were produced in sets of silver, copper, bronze, and aluminum.

Each year, a design competition was held where the winning entry appeared on the medal's obverse, while the reverse featured the club logo of Abraham Lincoln. Winners received a special set including "off-metal" medals with an oxidized antique finish and a lead-struck proof.

The medals were produced by Masterpiece Medallion, and each pure silver medal was personally numbered and hallmarked .999 FS by the late Lee Kuntz. While the club no longer produces an annual medal, past issues remain available through our Medals Chairman while supplies last. As this series now has defined start and end dates, it represents a complete historic collectible spanning over three decades of numismatic craftsmanship.
