About to the Heartland Coin Club
Founded in May 1962 as a non-profit organization by Owen Henry Bela, the Heartland Coin Club has grown to become the largest of the seven San Diego County Inter-Club Numismatic Council Clubs. Throughout the years, collectors young and old have enjoyed our events, including lectures, show and tells, coin raffles, and auctions. The Club also hosts two significant local Coin Shows annually.
Awards and Recognitions
The Heartland Coin Club has two prestigious awards:
-
The Owen Bela Award honors our Club's founder and recognizes outstanding members. Recipients receive a one-ounce, uniface silver medal featuring the Club's engraved logo.
-
The David Cherry Civil War Token Award acknowledges members who have made substantial contributions to the Club's success.
Since 1985, the Club has struck annual medals celebrating a historical site or significant event within the membership area. Designed by our members, these medals are produced as a set made of silver, copper, bronze, and aluminum.
The Heartland Coin Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month, except for February and December, at the City of El Cajon, Bostonia Center, located at 1049 Bostonia Street in El Cajon.
